The ‘Magical Bhutan’  tour and trek is a real combination of 4 days sightseeing and 3 days trekking. We will see the traditional cultural side of temples monasteries, local farm houses, schools, museums and local villages and the scenic Himalayan Mountains. The trekking is in the Gangtey valley which is considered one of the most scenic in all of Bhutan and the Gangtey Gompa is the only Nyingmapa Monastery on the western side of the black mountains. This moderate trek visits the village of Gogona and Khotokha, passing through fields, and forest of Juniper, Magnolia and Rhodrendrons.

Bhutan has been described as the Last Shangri-La (Paradise), the Mountain Fortress of the Gods and the government has only recently allowed modernization to this landlocked country with television, internet and mobile phones being available since the turn of the century. The Monarchy is strict to ensure the Bhutanese keep a hold of its own unique cultural identity and are strongly protective of their culture for it to remain spiritual and remote. Perhaps it is for these reasons that National Geographic Adventure magazine has named Bhutan as one of the 25 most exotic travel destinations in the world.
