India
India is one of the most attractive and alluring travel destinations on the planet because of its geography, and terrain India continues to enchant visitors from all over the globe with its many monuments historic buildings forts and temples.
India presents a mesmerizing collection of pulsating mega-sized metropolises, and the not to be missed Taj Mahal, the colourful pink city of Jaipur, the blue city of Udaipur. There are stunning beaches, countless fairs and festivals, lakes, monasteries, mosques, museums, palaces, bazaars, wildlife parks, many UNESCO World Heritage sites, and of course the interesting and friendly culture of the Indian people.
India is made up of 28 states and seven union territories; including Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Dadra, Nagar Haveli, Daman, Diu, Delhi, Lakshadweep and Pondicherry.
This great country spreads from the Himalayas in the north (the highest mountain range in the world), and slopes southward into a large fertile plain that covers much of India.
Three mountain ranges extend from the Indus River in the northwest, to the Brahmaputra River in the east, including the Himadri, Himachal and Shivaliks – all with deep canyons gorged by the fast-flowing water. The land rises slightly into two plateaus, bordered in the central and south by lower mountains (Ghats) that gently slope into narrow coastal plains.
The Ganges is one of the most significant rivers on the planet stretching from high in the mountains to the Bay of Bengal.
No matter where you go and what you see, India will jostle your entire being and a place you will want to return to time and time again to try and capture all it has to offer.
