Nepal has long been a magnet to many a traveller, adventurer not only to visit and view some of the highest mountains in the world but to mix and mingle with the awesome warm and friendly Nepalese people.
Kathmandu is Nepal’s capital city which rose to prominence in mediaeval times and was opened up to tourist in the 1950’s.There are many temples, shrines and narrow alleys to explore and has a population in Kathmandu valley of 29 million.and boast 150,000 tourist per annum.
There has been much change since New Zealander Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay summited Mt Everest in 1953. The Himalayan Trust and Sir Edmund Hillary built some thirty schools and hospitals for the Nepalese communities.
An enormous amount been done to protect the culture and environment for minimum impact to benefit future generations of the Nepalese people.
