Annapurna Circuit Trek - 26 days

Annapurna Region
(some departure dates are for women & men)
We start our trip in Kathmandu (the capital of Nepal), taking in a day sightseeing to some of the historical sites finishing the day with a traditional dinner and local dancing.
We then fly to Pokhara and spend the rest of the day visiting some temples and the International Mountaineering Museum. The next day we transfer to Bessishar which is the starting point of our Annapurna Circuit trek.
The Annapurna Circuit is the regions classic long distance trekking route. The route follows two river valleys and crosses the Thorung La pass at 5,416m which links these two valleys together. The locals boast that the Kali Gandaki Valley is the deepest valley in the world, at some 5 ½ km below the summit of Dhaulagiri (8,167m.
This trip offers (in season) fantastic views of Rhododendrons with their vibrant colours covering the hillsides, amazing mountains and the bonus of it being a circuit means we cover new ground every day. We visit monasteries, the old town of Kagbeni (which borders the Mustang Valley), bathe in the hot pools at Tatopani, walk up to Poon Hill for sunrise to see the vista of Machhapunchhre and the Annapurna range. Visit the second most sacred Hindu temple outside India at Mukitnath.
Pokhara is on the shores of Lake Phewa Tal. Pokhara township, has spectacular mountain scenery with a lush foreground of greenery surrounding the lake. Pokhara is close to the Annapurna Mountains and a much slower pace than the bustling Kathmandu city. There are some very nice cafés spread along the shores to sit and realx in or take a leisurely boat ride on the lake.
Pokhara has a population of around 180,000 and is two hundred kilometres from Kathmandu which takes approximately one hour to fly. It is also the starting and finishing point of most trekking trips in the Annapurna region.
It is also possible to spend time at a retreat for Yoga and mediation, which is in a beautiful setting above the shores of Lake Phewa Tal near Pokhara.
