Cycling Lhasa to Kathmandu - 25 days

Nepal / Tibet (this trip is for both women & men)
We start our twenty five day tour in Kathmandu (Nepal) with bike preparation and visit some local Nepalese sites. The following day we depart on a two day acclimatisation bike ride to Nagarkot (in the Kathmandu valley)where we can see the most amazing sunset & sunrise over the nearby mountains.
We fly to Lhasa from Kathmandu over the spectacular snow capped Himalayan Mountains with great views of Mt Everest on a clear day. There is a free time in Lhasa to watch the devout pilgrims circle the temple or search for beautiful Tibetan souvenirs in the local markets. We visit the Tibetan Monasteries which has colourful traditional architecture, the multi storey Khumbhum Stupa, the famous 7th century Potala Palace in Lhasa and the bustling Barkhor bazaar.
This ride allows time for exploring many of Tibet’s most fascinating cities and gives the rider the opportunity to ride the best and most scenic portions of the friendship highway that links these two ancient Himalayan Kingdoms. This trip offers those bikers with an adventurous spirit to share with the mysterious nomadic people of Tibet and experience this vast and unique landscape.
This trip involves riding from the ancient capital of Lhasa across the Tibetan Plateau via Mount Everest Base Camp and near the end we ride the longest downhill in the world to the border of Nepal. This downhill ride is 160k’s over two days. A real buzz!!!!
Support vehicles carry all equipment (and riders who may need a rest on the climbs!) which gives the freedom to accommodate participants of many different levels of riding skills. An experienced Nepali mountain bike guide, fluent in English, will ride with you, look after your equipment and ensure that this fantastic, experience will be trouble-free.
